Burgos: Cathedral on a gloriously sunny day
Today I went for a visit to the Burgos Cathedral, which is a 12th century Gothic cathedral and World Heritage UNESCO site. It's free on Tuesdays, so I went in and had a wander around -it is humungous inside, and so so beautiful! There are lots of individual rooms in it, each with different art and statues inside. Really awe-inspiring! The paintings of the crucifixion were much more graphic than any I had seen before, which really highlights the cruelty of the crucifixion and the high cost of salvation. I took many photos of the interior, but finally settled on a photo of the outside -the sky was just so gorgeous!
