Skiathos Day 1 - A Neighbourly Place

We've wanted to go to Skiathos for many years but it's on a long list of places and we hadn't got there yet, but last year we were asked by friends Chris and Hayley if we'd like to attend their wedding in Skiathos, and do the wedding photo's.

Of course we said yes and finally the holiday had come round. As a bonus, 2 of our other friends from work were also going, Jan and Nic and their toddler Stirling.

The flight out was clockwork and the transfer to our apartments quick. Skiathos is *tiny* and we were awestruck by the views from the thankfully air conditioned coach.

The colour of the sea.... wow.

I was determined not to let photography rule this holiday, and this was my only photo of day 1, a horse near our apartment (which is not the building behind...)

The apartment was gorgeous, a sea view and on a small complex. The luggage turns up a couple of hours after arrival as they use a system to deliver it as the coaches can't get up the tracks to the apartments.

Walking to the apartment, another couple started chatting to us about the island and this was to be a common theme. Everyone who was there was friendly without being overbearing, many of them having returned time and time again, and were happy to advise of the good beaches, what to avoid etc.

So we had a bit of time to explore before a lovely meal at the nearest restaurant.

Temperatures somewhere between 30 and 35 on this day I reckon!
