The Local Bat Cave

After a little bit of searching I've finally found our local Bat Cave on the hill behind our house. The adits are a left over from when the hill was quarried for chert and they are now inaccessible. The metals bars and locked gate have been placed to protect them from nosy people (and possibly The Joker!!! ;0) )

Apparently the bats are quite a rare species of Lesser Horseshoe Bat and this is used as their hibernation site.

Bats are such cute, amazing little creatures.
