Magic beans

Well I think they're magic anyway! The first broad beans of the year, and they were delicious in risotto.

I like to pick them young and I always peel them, but I remember hating them as a kid because they were served big and floury with their jackets on.

They always make me think of my Nan because she cooked them, but they should really make me think of my Grandad because he grew them! He could really teach me a thing or two about growing veg if he were here now.
