Goosegogs
This is a brilliant year for gooseberries - which is A GOOD THING because the whole family loves 'em.
The bushes in our garden were laden.
And not only did we have a lot, but so did my generous mum and my equally generous friend Anne - so I'm stewing and freezing lots and lots for pies and fools and crumbles in the months to come.
The very best thing to add to gooseberries is elderflower - it gives a real muscatel grape flavour. The elderflower season is well and truly over now, but luckily we made a couple of gallons of cordial back in May..
