Oh No Not Another sign

Yes I have a thing about signs and again the sheer randomness of where this sign was placed made me think why ????.

We parked up and went for a walk down the canal in Richmond and walked down the slave road. As we crossed Mayo Bridge in the midst of a bunch of trees was this sign. Who would put a sign there and why........
