wander, stumble, wonder

Catastrophe

This is a true story, it happened to a friend of mine. Actually a housemate. Today.

You know those moments you drop your phone/wallet/passport/other life support device and it's a near call? It almost goes down the gap of no return, almost splashes into the pond of irrevocability, almost loses to the machinations of munching technology? You pick up your beloved object, dust it off, mutter something about 'close call' and 'butter fingers' and walk on.

Sometimes there is no almost. Sometimes an object does drop into the depths of watery waywardness, never to be seen again.

On the up side, Bridget now has a new phone. And the fish in the Hobart docks can finally phone their relatives and join FishBook.
