Calmness at the Riverside
This is the ultimate dream: writing this Journal sitting outside on the balcony, bare feet. Looking towards the Southeastern horizon. And there right in front in the opening of the rainclouds a full moon presents itself. All of a sudden the Moon is there: Ah! The church bell beats two times: half hour. Writing outside also means being in touch with the river valley over there, where we made our afternoon walk. From here you can see the last evening red fading from the facades of the Harbour town. The mysty dragon clouds floating over the Diemel-River, and again the veiling and vanishing of the Moon.
The landscape scenery around is constantly changing. You can see the brown green river waters streaming. Due to the heavy rains of last night and today the river is now flooding its banks. It is a damp and delicious evening, with the Moon peekabooing from behind its veils. The nearby clouds turning rosa-red. You can hear only a few far away voices, some birds are still chirping. A car passes on the river road. This silence is benign. Moon in Evening Red. Rainclouds still around. Downtown the first lanterns lighten up.
I think back on our riverside walk this afternoon in hot sunshine. But there too reigned this calmness, visible in the grazing pair of horses in the riverside meadow. No need for any (over)activity, apart from making photos, chatting and looking around. We were like those lazy horses standing together in the cool shadow of a big tree. But the horses would freak out and gallop along the fences. We weren’t that crazy, walking, having left our bikes at home…
And now I’m enjoying the finishing of this cool evening-writing with mosquitos in my hair, having a last look into the darkening valley, breathing in the damp evening airs. Sending you heartily our Moonlit greetings from “ Carlsheaven”.
