Historic Chapel, Modern Windfarm

This blip is of Lumbutts Methodist Chapel and Black Dyke Cottages taken from Mankinholes Bank above Todmorden.
Lumbutts Chapel held its last regular Sunday Service in December 2013 after 176 years. Attempts are ongoing to secure a future for the building.

This area - on the hillside above Todmorden - is where I grew up and is a lovely area with great open vistas.
An organisation called Coronation Power have built five turbines - each 410ft high - on Todmorden Moor. These are plain to see in my blip. I am no fan (and no pun intended).

If you press 'L' you will get a feeling of the wide open space of the South Pennines. Unfortunately the turbines will be even more intrusive :-(
