How many legs has it got ?

its friday nite, and the bottle is cracked open .. and i just remembered one of those type of intimate small group social nites where you are trying to hide within the bottle you brought with you, in a corner of the room, wondering at which point will be considered an ok polite time to be able to go .. when was approached from behind and asked 'how many legs has it got' ... which to any wine buff is referring, dubiously or not, to the quality of wine by the amount of streaks it leaves on the glass when it has been swirled about .. apparently the more legs, the better the quality .. as I am far from been a wine buff, I smiled politely, found my legs and left shortly after.
