A Morning Off From Winter

This morning was bright and sunny, and the temperature was 16ºC, 10º warmer than yesterday’s high. The sky was blue with diaphanous clouds that appeared to be applied with a dry brush. Out came the bumblebees and butterflies, as though winter was over. This yellow admiral was after nectar from the Viburnum flowers.

Winter gradually returned in the afternoon.
