Finished project

Those of you who tried to guess on Tuesday what I was going to make with my strips of fabric came up with some ambitious projects, so I hope you aren't disappointed with these little mug coasters! They are made by wrapping strips of fabric around plastic coated wire and then machine stitching them in a spiral. I have used this technique before on bigger projects and you can see the results here where you can also read how I learnt the technique.
I was asked to make the little mats for the Surrey Room at the WI's college, Denman, where the bedrooms are furnished by the counties and are full of lovely crafts.
