Porty People and Places

The third successive sunny day in Edinburgh. The beach at Portobello was as busy as I have seen it. School holidays. Edinburgh Trades ( tradtional summer fortnight holiday) and the warm sunny blue sky days combined to make this a bumper day for ice cream vendors and sea front pubs. Sadly, the weather forecast for the weekend is less promising.

This sepia rendition is a tribute to the heady seaside days here of yesteryear when there was a pier forpaddle steamer passengers and donkey rides for all. Not sure the beach would have been much more croweded back then, such is increasing populaity of Edinburgh's fashionable seaside resort!
