Pests On A Pest

The little wood that we regularly walk through is infested with Himalayan Balsam. In places you almost walk through a tunnel of the stuff.

Introduced into the UK in the early 1800s it is now widespread and considered an invasive weed.

View LARGE to see the little insects that appear to be infesting this particular flower. I think they may be aphids - but I am not sure.
