Sun blast in Portland
I met GrazingLlama for lunch in the midst of a heat wave. We're expecting 100 degrees F (38C) over the next few days, and people are coming out of their caves and hoodies, dropping their rain gear, slathering themselves with sunscreen, blinking their little red eyes and squinching up their faces. What is that blinding ball of glare up there?
GrazingLlama told me what I missed this morning: The Great Namaste, an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest yoga chain. Over my groans of disappointment (why didn't I hear about this? I missed it? It's OVER?), she showed me pictures she got from her eleventh-floor office above the event. She promises she'll post it later today, so don't miss it: a thousand people doing yoga on red bricks on the hottest day of the year. I suffer from photographic envy. Fortunately she brought me a sack of plums from her back garden to sweeten my disappointment about the photo opp missed.
