Golden mantled ground squirrels

These little animals are common in Rocky Mountain NP, and not hard to photograph. This one was right by the trail, probably looking for tidbits of human food.

I'm sorry I don't have much time to comment at present, but I really appreciate those of you who have been looking at my images. We are just back from two nights backpacking in RMNP, and staying with friends, so I do have wifi. I can't spend as long on the computer as usual, though, without being a bit antisocial!

Today I've also posted images for yesterday and the day before.. from near our campsites at Odessa and Fern Lakes, both very easily accessible from the trailheads.
