A Seagull Summer
We claimed a small, quiet patch of grass, half in the shade, half in the sun. Kayaks criss-crossed across the water, boys and girls and dogs were busy playing tag while a wedding rehearsal was taking place behind us in the pavilion. After reading only a few pages of my book, I laid back on the blanket and looked up at the clear blue sky accented by trees and a lone seagull gliding above us all.
