Ride for a lifetime

I had an honour to participate today to the last leg of Ride for a lifetime. An event created by two brave dads, who both lost a child to cancer - and decided to raise money for cancer research by biking all the way from Holland to Helsinki childrens hospital. They did this all in two weeks, and with almost 70kg heavy cargo-bikes! Their longest day ride was 180km. (Today we did together about 80 km.)

It must have been quite a ride. Both emotionally and physically. As said, I'm very happy I was able to participate, with many of the pinkwheels -team members (another team raising awareness and money for cancer research).

The event also got high level attention when the Finnish prime minister came to meet the fathers, and the Dutch ambassador joined the ride for the last 10 km. We are now waiting how the Finnish 10Pm news are reporting of the event...
