London Vegan Beer Fest

St Margaret's House, Bethnal Green, venue for the London Vegan Beer Fest.

St. Margaret's House is a unique community charity providing space, opportunities, and art events all under one roof. St Margaret's house has a fascinating history opening in 1889 in a house built on museum green, moving to Old Ford Road in 1900.

The charities work included the Children's Country Holiday Fund, the Metropolitan Association for Befriending Young Servants, district and hospital visits, a needlework scheme to employ very poor women through the winter months, work helping the clergy from nearby parishes with Sunday School teaching and visiting work houses, as well as nursing the sick, organising sick and relief funds, work for mothers and children and running the clubs for girls.

Today 200 or so people gathered to enjoy some fine beers from Brass Castle, Clarkshaws, Hadtings, Pitfields & Stroud Breweries. We sampled a variety of interesting beers & some tasty food from the vegan BBQ and best of all the sun shone all afternoon which was a very pleasant change from the rain of the last few days.
