Back to the market
An early start as I had been carded to help move a bench - a chestnut tree trunk 3m long in fact - into position on the path that goes around the valley. With eight of us it wasn't actually too bad and I had the benefit of getting some carrot cake off one of my co-lifters as a result.
On then to Les Vans market, which several weeks ago I raved about saying how quiet it was. Sadly no more as the tourist season as cut in. However it is still not as bad as the Joyeuse market so thanks for small mercies.
Tricia had a cameo role at this stall, producing our almost empty jar of Allspice and asked Mr Le Spice whether he had stocks to replenish our diminished supply. Much sniffing and scratching of heads went on and in particular discussion as to whether Allspice is one spice or a mixture. In the end he went for ground Poivrons de Jamaique which is either correct or so close that you will never know the difference. Tricia then kindly forgot to pay and walked off which again caused some consternation behind the counter. Peace was in the end declared.
