Idyll

It was too hot for a long walk today so we wandered around Harewood Forest near Longparish, stopping for a long lazy picnic in this clearing. It was lovely to lie on the rug with Kate and the children, looking up through the trees, butterflies everywhere, and loud birdsong. We saw a deer, buzzards and one of those spiders that hides in a funnel of cobweb.

After walking back through the woods we drove on to St Mary Bourne to visit the resting place of the forever-wonderful Sarah Morgan. It was peaceful and beautiful in the summer sunshine.
