Being watched

Although this Ringlet seemed to be watching me it stayed long enough for me to take a photo.

There were very few spectacular butterflies around today but I managed to get some good pictures of a Speckled Wood which is quite rare in south east Scotland. But as I blipped it last year here is a fairly common Ringlet instead. Recently I have noticed many of these but they were always too quick to blip. Those that I saw earlier had a prominent white fringe on their wings indicating that they were newly emerged but today very few had. They are one of the butterflies that can be seen in dull conditions like today and they fly from late June till August.
