Aristide!!!!

One of my favourite childhood books was "Aristide" by Robert Tibber. I'd forgotten about it for years but then started looking for it to give to my kids to read. I've looked in 2nd hand bookshops on and off for ages with no luck.
Today a parcel arrived and in it was my book...a surprise pressie from Paul. What a sweetheart!
It's a story about a little French boy, Aristide, who accidentally crosses the English Channel on his lilo. I'd forgotten half the story so it was like reading it for the first time when I read it to the girls today.
This first edition from 1966 was illustrated by Quentin Blake, as you can see. It's a super story...should be republished. I found out only today that R.Tibber is the pen name for Marjorie Friedman. I always feel it is a shame when a female author takes a male name for publishing.
