Leggy Mileage (2014.191)

This is the mileage on my 6 year old scooter, as I arrived home this evening. I'm a sucker for number patterns like this.

All of those miles have been done within the area constrained by the Firth of Forth and Edinburgh City Bypass. The bike has never been outside Edinburgh.

Weather aside, I really don't know why more people don't commute on scooters. The journey time is half that of a car, and the running costs are trivial (I reckon around £400 per annum, including fuel, for around 2,000 miles per year). And weather is just a matter of having the right clothing.
