Katie and her friends spent about 20minutes photographing each other on H's tablet this morning after church.

When she woke up (she slept the whole night in her bed!) she ran into me and immediately started telling me about the wonderful time she had at the party last night. There were birds of prey, a BBQ, bouncy castle, garden games, crafts. A fantastic night from the sounds of it. And she told me she was a really good girl for Grandad too.

We got showered and ready for church before walking. She ran off immediately to sit with her cousin and friends & trotted off up to her kids' group. She did a picture about a lady healed by Peter. The lady had a paper fastener in her ankle so "she can be dead then alive".... She thought it hilarious.

We have come for a coffee at her request, plus one of her favourite bread rolls (paprika and cheese, marks and spencer, yummy) and to get ingredients as she's requested a proper Sunday roast for tea. While we were out we paid a visit to some of the town's puppet festival venues. She wasn't convinced about the giant hippo, she rather loved playing with the magpies who liked marbles and sparkly necklaces

As we headed towards home, we heard our names being called- her little friend and mama were at the park so we went and joined them for a play and a walk back together. What was meant to be church and then a quiet afternoon doing things at home ended up being very busy!!
