Computing History

A good forecast to finally head to one of Cambridge's lesser known and recent attractions - the centre for computing history :-)

Housed in a commercial unit on an industrial estate it was really popular and did exactly what it said on the tin. You forget just how many computing systems there were. A large floorspace but even then they were only able to show 100 of their 700 systems from the 60s to 00s!

I was particularly intrigued by the 1k DEC acoustic delay line memory unit. It also amazed me that my eyesight isn't any worse than it deserves to be - displays really were awful.
