Tears and joy

It was a year ago today that we lost Aunty Kathleen and our sadness is still raw but thankfully we have so many happy memories of a wonderful woman who was loved dearly. I took mother to visit her grave this morning to lay flowers and dodge raindrops.

This afternoon we joined lots of family members to celebrate my brother-in-law's 60th birthday. It was great catching up with distant relatives that I see too infrequently.

Along with the sadness I do feel truly blessed to be part of a wonderfully close family.
