Our friends Gary and Joyce compete frequently in BBQ competitions. Their team name is Subtle Smoke. We went to Madelia Minnesota today to see them in action. They cook four types of meat, and turn in their product to the judges every half hour for two hours. Those are two very action-packed and tense hours! Just like on the food channel!

There was a blues festival along with the competition. After cleaning up we spent the rest of the evening listening to music and eating anything but BBQ!
