Racing against the tide
Late afternoon/ early evening, after a full-on day of play, we headed off to the beach. H wasn't sure, but I had a feeling it was going to be the best part of the day.
And indeed it was. We had a mad scooter / sprint race across the golf course. And arrived just before full tide at the beautiful beach. Two miles of golden sand, three fishermen and a few dog walkers. Wonderful sunshine, light and warmth. One of those perfect moments.
We raced against the (incoming) tide, to build a sandcastle, the moat got filled, the turrets were decorated, and then the whole lot was washed away. All within 20 minutes. Phew! Some serious digging. As sandcastle building is an art form in our family.
The sun is just going down now. Layers of pink and blue over the sea. Impossible not to be happy here.
