Notes that tell a tale....
Firstly if you're reading this and are employed by the NSPCA we have looked after animals for years and they have all written good references about us. Secondly can I just say how sorry I feel for Fred and thirdly? If I don't Blip tomorrow Lady A may well have caused me some serious grief for the following.... This note is on our fridge as a reminder to feed the tortoise as over the last week or two the routine may have um slipped rather. Well you know the chaos of life, Fred is out in the garden, he doesn't speak etc etc... in fairness one morning was missed so a note was required as a gentle reminder. He does get fed everyday if the NSPCA are still reading. Then today? The second misdemeanour against old Fred though this time he had the time of his life. At lunch he was brought out of his pen to have a roam for 5 minutes. 3hrs later, as I was dozing off watching the cricket, the doorbell rung and next door had found him trying to get through to 2 doors up's garden... It must have been like a human trekking across the Amazon jungle. During his adventure he'd squeezed through a gate, slipped past passport control and had cleared the fence in the Great Escape (something old Steve McQueen always failed to do). Thankfully we have good neighbours - though their 3yr old probably sat on Fred but he was returned safely to his pen. Lady A - you will now have scheduled and monitored visits to dear Fred and you will be escorted each time....
