Welsh Moon
Almost a super moon ... apparently that's tomorrow night.
Today is an exceptional day. I manage to calm my nerves and report for duty at my first paid professional photography job. It's for Rok Creative and I'm spending the weekend with them photographing their Brand relaunch and team building hike up Snowdon! I've been so nervous, but new I'd be fine as soon as I started shooting and had met everyone. So much to think about - least of all can I make it to the top of Snowdon!
While I'm waiting for them all to be ready to leave I get a phone call from an art collector who's seen my exhibition and wants to buy three of my photos! I'm blown away and its just the confidence boost I need to see me though the weekend.
We drive to Wales, set up camp, go for dinner in the pub, do the presentation outside on the pub wall, go back and sit around the camp fire chatting and go to bed far to late given we're climbing a mountain early in the morning. I was good and didn't drink all night but my head was buzzing when I went to bed so I hardly slept at all.
For decades I've been taking photos. They've been made into posters, flyers, printed in brochures, papers and magazines even printed in the Guardian and Independent, but until this week I've never managed to earn a single penny from my photography. This week things have turned that corner. I've sold postcards, framed prints (possibly 4) and had my first job! I can now say that I am a photographer :-)
