Ardnamurchan adventures
While tootling about looking for a camper overnight stop, we passed this little community garden/honesty shop/allotment, across the road from the Sonachan Hotel. What a fabulous idea.
We got a punnet of strawberries which were the best I'd tasted in a long time. We eventually headed for Sanna, which didn't have a welcoming feel (some strange signs/slogans painted around the place, warning signs about shooting dogs if they chase sheep etc), including a sign that said "no overnight parking". But we spoke to a couple of other who were hoping to park up and decided there was safety in numbers and that probably the signs were there so they could move troublemakers on. Needless to say a 'Wicker Man scenario' didn't play out, despite my greatest fears. And you have to cross a volcanic crater to get there. What's not to love?
