St. James's Park: Perching Pigeon (in Peril)
... about to get the chop?
I've back blipped the last couple of days:
NHM: Darwin (with alien bokeh)
Goosle fledgling landing
I visited St. James's Park this afternoon and had a wonderful time photographing the birds. There were millions of tourists around, and many had brought food...
This child wasn't actually karate chopping the pigeon, but was slowly moving his hand towards it to try to touch it. I think that pigeons are beautiful up close, and this one was in good condition (Familiarity Breeds Contempt).
I've put up loads of other shots of the pigeons and waterfowl (right from here).
Highlights:
Ruddy shelduck
Punky cygnet
Adorable juvenile snow goose
Pigeon and peanuts (and more to the left)
Bar-headed goose
Heron
Black swan
