Legendary Beauty.

Lillie Langtry (nee Le Breton), born in Jersey,1853. This connection with Stockbridge keeps coming up, not that she had tea here, but as the mistress of Prince of Wales (later King Ed V1). One account has her and him living on opposite banks of the Test, another living together in the High St. More likely visiting their horses at Danebury, about a mile away. Anyway its all a lovely story. She died in Monte Carlo in 1929.

Tea rooms named after her aren't bad either, especially if you can sit outside in the sunshine, like this morning.
