Porty People and Places

Bastille Day on Portobello Beach. No tricolors in sight but weather here this morning more typical of Brittany than north Briton at this time of year! It did rain a little bit later in the afternoon though to make us feel more at home.

In days gone by we would often take the Ferry to France on this date. It was always a good day to avoid the traffic on this moning as France was hungover and off the roads having partyed and fireworked from midnight. This year those celebrations will have been surpassed by those in Germany as Angela Merkel lauched the party by emracing every single member of the victorious German World Cup Championship winning squad!
