The Fireplace in the Woods
Michigan is a state where you can't throw a rock without hitting a tree or a lake. It's fabulous. It also makes for large 'skeeter populations that think Dutch blood is far superior to US blood, but that's another story.
We visited Brandywine Lake, Wolf Lake and the Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery today, but the light was very uncooperative; meaning there was none. Even the swans looked dreary.
But we took a nice stroll along Wolf Lake to look at this mystery (again): the Fireplace in the Woods.
Now, in reality it's likely someone used to have a house around the fireplace and it burnt down or time ate it away, but I like to pretend it's of Narnian descend and friendly Beavers build fires there with the wood they don't need for their dams and all the Animals gather round and tell stories while roasting marshmellows.
If you look at it like that, this is a much more interesting picture than it really is :)
Oh, spring, you can't arrive fast enough ...
