Marbled White
In April I blipped about the threatened meadows that lie east and west of Bradford Beck at Shipley.
Today I found one of the Marbled White butterflies that have begun to establish themselves here. A lifetime first for me, and another species to add to my growing collection of butterfly blips.
A minute beforehand I'd been very happy to see a Common Blue in the same spot, and there were lots of Ringlets, Small Skippers, Small Tortoiseshells, Meadow Browns and the odd Comma and Large White.
And I even saw a Brown Trout in the Beck. Another good day for wildlife in the city.
