Beach Rules

I spent the day as a reluctant tourist guide. The reluctant tourist was Regine, visiting from Holland. She won't mind me saying that she wasn't at all interested in any of Edinburgh's conventional tourist attractions. After several false starts, I realised that this ruled out the castle, the palace, the Old Town, the New Town, the Forth bridges, and pretty well all the other plans I had for sightseeing. So we ended up on a rainy and otherwise deserted Portobello beach. I'm not sure about Regine, but I enjoyed myself.
