The viewpoint is on East Hill, looking south-westwards

Corfe village's Square is in the centre of the photo. Below it is the sixteenth century Uvedale's House. The ruined castle's grounds would be visible if the camera had faced a little to the right.

Almost all of these older buildings are roofed with Purbeck stone.
