Cool...and Wayward Tourists.
We had another “inversion” day today so The Boss decided to have a little adventure and we went up the Matukituki Valley which is where you go to get to Treble Cone Cone Cone skifield . I was upgraded to Business class and as we progressed up the valley the cloud lifted and the light got better and The Boss said that we will be bark tomoro for sure.
About 30 minutes past the Treble Cone turn off with it’s very large sign and highly decorative US type “ranch type entrance” we were stopped on the side of the road where The Boss was contemplating the light (asyoudo) and a car pulled up alongside. The Bloke leaned out the window and asked.
“Is this the way to Treble Cone”
“Oh No”, said The Boss. “You need to turn around and travel 30 minutes back down the road and when the gravel turns to seal just turn right…You can’t miss it”
I thought “They already HAVE”
So The Bloke and his Sheila turned and departed. I have no idea where THEY were from but they were nice folk, and said I looked cute. The Boss went bark to chasing light.
This pond can be a feature of the valley and this morning was no exception. Frosts can be pretty severe and normally the ground around is un walkable and swampy. No probs this morning tho.
Business class has it’s own heating and a way better view. Upgrades are good.
Upgrade the view too
