Cinnabar moth caterpillars

I went out this afternoon to photograph some footpaths for the parish council and had intended to post a picture of some overgrown steps. But on the way back I spotted these cinnabar moth caterpillars climbing over some yellow ragwort.

(It is St Swithin's Day today and popular superstition states that the weather today will be repeated for the next 40 days - let's hope that is right!)
