Bookshelf Browsing

Today went into a well known bookshop where I love to browse. I was actually looking for a 21st birthday present for a relative. We will be celebrating his birthday on Friday, a month in advance.
I decided that a bande-dessine book might be appropriate. I only know the category in French, in the bookshop they are defined as graphic novels.
The choice was intriguing from Russian Superman, Palestine and my eventual choice, "A Chinese Life" written by Philippe Otie and Li Kunwu, illustrated by Li Kunwu and translated by Edward Gauvin.
