Thistle Doo nicely!
My regular Tuesday morning volunteering thingy having finished for its summer break, I was able to join the local Ramblers for their Tuesday walk this morning. The Tuesday group specialise in shorter, local walks - not that my usual Wednesday walks are that lengthy or strenuous - and this morning's walk was through Vault Glen and Cumbernauld Glen, and very pleasant it was too. And we were finished before 12.30 - although they did say that this walk was one of their shorter offerings.
I took a few pictures on the way round, but had decided that I would return to the Glen when the walk had finished to spend a little more time exploring and, perhaps, take a few more photos. (For 'perhaps' read 'almost certainly'!)
Always looking for a new angle on the Doocot, and beginning to think that option wasn't going to present itself this afternoon, I spotted some thistles in bloom. A photo of the day began to form in my mind: if I could get one of these in the foreground, with the Doocot just slightly out of focus in the background, then I'd be happy. It took a few attempts but I got the shot I wanted.
Returned to the car, which had been parked in Cumbernauld Village, and enjoyed the rest of my flask of tea. Job done!
