Striding in Patent Yellow

Edinburgh Time

The floral clock in Princes Street Gardens is apparently the oldest in the world having been a feature of the gardens since 1903. Along with feeding the ducks on Blackford Pond this is one of the Edinburgh's landmarks that I most clearly remember from childhood visits to my grandparents home in the city and I always like to go for a look when in the right part of town. I had just missed the 12 o'clock cuckoo when I got there today, but the planting was as spectacularly perfect as ever - this year celebrating 10 years of Edinburgh's status as a fair trade city.
