Flying Legends
I took PapaDroog to the Flying Legends airshow at Duxford this weekend. All manner of old warbirds put on a most impressive display, the climax of which was a massed flypast by most of the aeroplanes which took part. Among this formation are Mustangs, Spitfires, ME 109s and other assorted propellor-driven fighters.
PapaDroog loved it: these were the aeroplanes of his youth, some of which he worked on during his service in the RAF.
As I was driving away from the car park, I let a lady struggling with her shopping in the torrid heat cross in front of my car. In return I received a lovely smile and a thumbs-up. From Germaine Greer. Quite made my day.
