All Aboard

On my way to Dave's place in Greystones I decided to take a detour along the coast road because the evening was such an unsorted jumble of light and cloud anything was possible. I stopped briefly to photograph this person on an interestingly-shaped bench, one of the more recent items of street-furniture. It was only later, when processing the images, that I realised how much like a little boat it is, a wee coracle for two, or one.

On the high street the gold-white sunlight was blinding, everyone's face a bright mask, tangle of old wires above a shopfront making a snarl of sculptural black shadows, clear as a linocut; impossible to see oncoming cars as I pulled out.

Both of us were a bit wrecked so we just talked and watched the last four episodes of Nurse Jackie.
