Sunflower from behind.

I have been experimenting with photographing flowers for a while and so I decided to try out sunflowers, but they have proved to be more difficult to deal with than I expected. They look positively scary close up and so the point of this picture was to try and show the other side of them, literally and metaphorically. It has made me think of Van Gogh's paintings of sunflowers and how we tend to assume that they were just happy paintings of flowers, but in reality Van Gogh was dealing with a variety of serious personal and health issues. All is not what it seems at first glance.
