A detailed blurb on saying goodbye to friends disappeared. I'll redo tomorrow. Suffice to say it was hard to say goodbye to people with whom I have shared a remarkable experience and will be friends for life. This pic, which I did post to Facebook, was from the last night in Santiago. It was a night filled with so much laughter, music, dancing and more laughter.I am in balmy (100 degrees) Madridnow and look forward to several days (I ended the camino WAY before I thought) of exploring. I am grateful to remember parts if the city, though clearly it has changed since I was last here when studying abroad in Granada in college. When I arrived at the hotel after totally underestimating the 3k walk from the station, I felt like I had walked into a different world. I plan/ hope to sleep past six, visit some of my favorite museums and maybe buy a pair of shoes; mine squeak and I look appropriately out of place.
* btw, and it is late in the game to be saying so, but I haven't proofread any of these posts. If you spotted major errors, please feel free to mock me with them ; I do poke fun of a good number of you on
a regular basis :)
