Poetry in motion

Alfie's 2nd day at the Village College went well. They were asked to write a poem and he came up with this one about his hero, guitarist Jimmy Page.

It was the parents turn this evening and we were put into tutor groups for a chat from the Head then filed off with our tutors to our classrooms like a bunch of naughty 11 year olds.

I was able to get a meeting with the SENCO to talk about Alfie's difficulties. I was pleasantly surprised (actually, delighted) that he already had some notes about him from his current teacher. Apparently he 'is mildly autistic, bright, a good guitarist, might give an unexpected response'

The last one cracked me up. It was great to know that they will monitor him and also that there is someone we can talk to if we have concerns. It's all looking very positive so far.

Just remembered that Poppy had a move up day today too. Ooops! Better go and see how she got on too. Bad mummy!!
