Lakeside Reflections (2014.196)

This is the village centre at Centerparcs Whinfell. The left half is the Subtropical Swimming Paradise, an excellent multi-sectioned swimming area with chutes and flumes and spa pools and suchlike. On the right are shops and restaurants.

The centre backs on to the lake, where there are boating, canoeing and pedaloes for hire.

This shot was taken at half past ten, when most of the attractions are closed, and guests are back in their lodges. It's a quiet time, less than an hour since the sun went down.

The peacefulness of the site reflected in the calmness of the water in the lake.
